Abstract: both in Lakota and English (English translation in appendix) This proposal is respectfully submitted as a plan to provide each graduate student in Lakota Leadership and Management a lap top computer. Several existing problems are identified in the attached survey and with funding received Oglala Lakota College will seek to reduce or eliminate these problems. This authors experience has proven the benefits of having access to a computer. Working full-time with a parent at home who had special needs, and driving time all conflicted with the hours Oglala Lakota College computers were available. Two hours a night (providing the computers were not being used by students facing the same problem, along with finding someone to watch my mother) was not enough time to complete projects. In coordination with Oglala Lakota College this plan ensures that each graduate student who has two consecutive semesters (active enrollment) receives a lap top computer, which will empower and assist them in attaining their Lakota Leadership and Management degree. This author plans to coordinate with Oglala Lakota College in hosting various classes for student training in the utilization of the lap top computer. This author's hope is that these are the first steps in the journey to make technology a reality as Oglala Lakota College and students work together to accomplish their educational goals.
